2010 CNY Decorations at tHe Spring & Boulevard

Just wanna share some CNY decorations that can be found in two major shopping malls in Kuching.

Kenyalang CNY Bazaar 2010

As usual, every year Kenyalang will be the place for many Kuchingites to shop for CNY stuffs ranging from food to decorations to clothes.

This place is always packed with people whenever CNY is around the corner and usually it’s the first place get the feel of CNY is coming soon.

CNY decorations for sale are everywhere!

CNY tidbits on sale. This has been the place for many people to buy tidbits for their CNY open house for more than two decades.

There are many shops for you to shop for CNY stuffs.  No worries for you. You can get everything all at Kenyalang.

The Launch of WonderFulBorneo.com

Was invited to the launch of WonderFulBorneo.com . The launch was officiated by Tan Sri Datuk Patinggi Dr. George Chan at Sri Shan Indian Restaurant.

While waiting for the event to start, there were musical performance using oriental musical instruments and sape.

Borneo Post International Education Fair (BPIEF) 2010

Looking to explore quality undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in the country?

BPIEF 2010 is scheduled to take place from March 26 to March 28 at the Permata Carpark.

Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Minister of Education Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also deputy prime minister, are expected to be present at the opening ceremony.

Hills Shopping Mall

The Hills Shopping Mall started its operation last year on 29th December.

The first impression when I was in there was, “so empty… Nothing to see…”. Only few stores such as Times Book Store, Skin Food, Marrybrown, Sushi King, Wan Chai Restaurant were opened.

According to the newspapers, the Hills Shopping Mall has about 120 shops and 85% had been rented out and 15% will be reserved for some special shops. Quite a number of kiosks started operating already too.

There were various events going on.

When I was there, they were having some car show featuring various sports cars and convertibles

Wonder when will be the grand opening. By the way, there will be several shops opening this coming weekend especially Toy’R'Us.

Launch of WowBook

Two weeks ago, Malaysia Wow was having their book launching and roadshow at Boulevard Shopping Mall, Kuching.

WowBook is the first charity discount book.

Before the launch, there was dance by a local dance studio to entertain the crowd.

One of the founders of WowBook, Addy,  giving his speech.

The four founders, Addy Kho, Sharon Kho, Ahmad Danial Ridwan, and Evelyn Lim along with Alvin Leong, Loreal representative, KAA representative launched the WowBook.

1Malaysia Clinic in Kuching

Been hearing about this 1Malaysia Clinic a lot in the TV but didn’t really know what it was all about.

Actually it’s a new programme nationwide launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak recently. This is Launched in line with 1Malaysia concept ‘People First, Performance Now’. The 1Malaysia Clinics aims to provide health care to urban residents that need treatment for minor illnesses.

Currently there’s only one such clinic in Kuching. Here’s the address:
Malaysia Clinic at Ground Floor, Lot 9746, SL33, Jalan Matang, Taman Lee Ling Phase Two, 93050 Kuching.

This clinic began its trial run on Jan 5 to prepare for the official nationwide launch. It will officially open on Jan 17.

The clinic opens daily from 10am to 10pm, it has an assistant medical officer, a nurse and a medical attendant.
